Some are very salt tolerant and are a great choice on the beach sea grapes, silver buttonwood and some like wet areas magnolia, red maple, bald cypress.
You must register to apply online. You must have a licensed contractor associated with your registration to apply for tree removal and building permits. Professional licenses are not required for planning applications.
Services Available. To submit an online tree removal permit application your tree service must first be registered with the City of Clearwater (BTR or REG), and you must have already registered for online permitting. Permitting. NEW Contractors are encouraged to submit permit applications online using our ePermitting System at treedelimbing.bar Effective June 1, all contractors must submit window, door, garage door, mechanical, roof, electric, plumbing and water heater permits online.

A permit is required to remove any protected tree, which is any nonhazardous tree four inches DBH (diameter breast height) or greater or any palm with a 10 foot clearance and straight trunk. The city of Clearwater encourages residential tree replacement. The city offers suggestions on the best practices to plant trees and recommends trees that are most suitable for this climate and area.
